Debbie Psarras enjoys several decades of meeting and event experience with the gray hair and laugh lines to prove it!
Says Debbie: “Medical education meetings have been a journey into a whole new world!” At first the challenges were ‘easy’ things like turning a ballroom into a misty rainforest with live animals and local musicians. But the fun quickly ended when the pharmaceutical industry began to self regulate via the Pharma Guidelines. This set of ever changing rules poses new challenges like how to create successful educational events with ever decreasing budgets.”
Debbie also boasts many years of international experience where she has fine tuned the art of working with customs to release materials to helping an international group of attendees experience some of the comforts of home, while enjoying new cultures and expanding their careers. She caters to all cultures, ages and clients – even creating personalized itineraries when a client’s business or personal preferences make participating in the group programs impossible.
Prior to embarking on the Med Ed adventure, Debbie spent six years at Fox Latin America where she scheduled events at the World Series, Super Bowl, and US Open, to name a few. One of her most memorable experiences was learning the best way to transport a six-foot cartoon character head from country to country…now there is no challenge too daunting for Debbie.
Jean Harris joined the Logistically Speaking Inc. team in 2008, bringing with her more than a decade of marketing experience in both the corporate and non-profit arenas. For Jean attention to detail is paramount. And while she covers her gray hair, she sports the laugh lines as a badge of honor. Jean brings to the Med Ed scene her years of creating marketing events. Her event experience has served her well, working with budgets both large and small to organize a wide variety of successful events. From speaker series to wine tastings, product launches to travel programs and gala fundraisers to opening night events, her creative approach has left a special mark on each program.
Highlights of Jean’s special events experience include a high level VIP trip to South Africa that included visits Stellenbosch and KwaZulu-Natal with estate wine tastings, behind-the-scenes visits to an AIDS clinic, and safaris. For an at-sea product launch, she created an interactive Reds campaign and liaised with a breast cancer awareness group.
Jean sums up her experience saying: “My work with non-profit organizations has thoroughly prepared me to deal with the shrinking budgets that are the new medical education reality.”
